    5. Insurance Conditions

    The following insurance conditions apply during the hire period:

    • Proof of insurance must be provided to the Company prior to the commencement of the hire period.
    • The insurance policy must:
      • Cover the vehicle for private hire purposes as per TfL regulations.
      • Include third-party liability coverage.
      • Ensure comprehensive coverage for damages or losses to the vehicle.
    • The hirer is responsible for any excess payments or deductibles as required by their insurance policy.
    • In the event of an accident or damage to the vehicle:
      • The hirer must notify their insurer and the Company immediately.
      • A claim must be filed with the insurer, and the hirer is responsible for providing all necessary documentation.
    • Any breach of the insurance policy resulting in invalid coverage will render the hirer fully liable for all costs, damages, and legal penalties incurred during the hire period.
    • The Company reserves the right to verify the validity of the insurance policy at any time during the hire period.

    6. Responsibility for Tolls, Penalties, and Charges

    1. Liability for Charges: The hirer is responsible for all parking tickets, congestion charges, tolls, or fines incurred during the hire period.

    2. Payment Deadline: All such charges must be paid within 7 days of issuance.

    3. Administrative Fee for Non-Payment: Failure to settle these charges within the specified time will result in an administrative fee of £ per charge, in addition to the original amount.

    4. Reporting Obligation: The hirer must inform the Company immediately upon receipt of any fines, tolls, or penalty notices.

    7. Terms and Conditions of Use

    The hirer agrees to the following terms and conditions:

    • Permitted Use: The vehicle is strictly to be used for legitimate private hire purposes under TfL regulations.
    • Prohibited Use:
      • Racing, rallying, or competitive driving of any kind.
      • Off-road driving.
      • Carrying passengers for hire or reward outside TfL private hire regulations.
      • Towing or carrying loads beyond the vehicle's approved capacity.
      • Transporting hazardous materials.
      • Any illegal activities or purposes, including smuggling, theft, or any other unlawful act.
      • The vehicle may not be sub-let, rented to another party, or used by anyone not authorised under this agreement.
    • Maintenance and Care: The hirer must maintain the vehicle in a roadworthy condition during the hire period.
    • Return Condition: The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as it was hired, subject to reasonable wear and tear.
    • Consequences of Misuse: Any breach of these terms may result in termination of the agreement, forfeiture of the deposit, and legal or regulatory action.

    The hirer agrees to provide accurate and truthful information under Section 66 of the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988 and consents to this agreement being retained by the Company for legal and regulatory purposes.
